Morocco sits between the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the Sahara, and you feel all three: salty air on the coast, dry dust inland. The medinas are a maze of narrow passages, mosques and souks smelling of metal, leather and mint. In the Atlas the colour of the rock changes every kilometre; at the edge of the desert the land empties into silence.
