Jordan switches fast between empty stone desert and green strips along the water. In Amman, white limestone stacks into terraces and stairs. In the south, Wadi Rum opens into wide sandstone walls and silence. Petra changes colour with the sun, and the Dead Sea lies lower than anything around it.
